Peyton is Four Months Old Today...

Wow, time is flying by. It seems as though everyday Peyton is doing something new, or exploring something for the first time. I have loved every second of her life! Even though I am sad that she is getting so big so fast, I am so thankful that she is healthy & growing as she should. God is taking care of her each moment. I am so thankful that He loves her even more than me, more than I can fathom.

Learning to Sit & New Sounds...

So, I have just about got this sitting thing down. When my mom puts toys in front of me, I usually reach out and get them...sometimes I tip over, but most of the time I just play with my toys...I use them and my hands to help hold me up. Yesterday, though, I was in the tub and really wanted to splash, so I decided to sit up the real way. I lasted about 10 seconds...then my mom caught me!

Today I started making a new sound. It is not my mom's favorite. Basically, I suck in a lot of air...you know so it sounds like I can't breathe. Then, I let it out and laugh really hard. I love this sound. My mom does not. It's okay, she still thinks I am soooo cute.

Have a good day!
Peyton

Well, even though no one wants to know...the prune juice worked. I think Peyton feels much better!

Aunt Kim Came to Visit...

Aunt Kim came to visit our family last week. She was very generous as usual & we had a good time. We went to dinner for Mother's Day & Father's Day! Mostly we just hung out. She also brought Peyton a Taggie dog...she loves it. It is her favorite toy to play with right now.

Exploring...

Peyton's first time exploring & playing in the grass...she liked it after a little while.

Definitely, Maybe...

I don't know if you have seen the movie Definitely Maybe. I was looking forward to it. I know that I often watch movies or tv shows in which the values & worldview displayed are altered or opposite of mine. But last night I was just extremely disappointed. I feel like every day the value of marriage in our society lessens. It has become just something you do. Vows mean nothing to so many in our culture. It is devastating to me...not simply because God designed the family to look a certain way, but because families & people...kids all over the place are more broken than ever. I won't spoil the movie for you if you still want to see it, but I left disappointed. I know it just makes it that much important for us to be intentional in our marriage....about dating each other...about serving each other...about sharing life....about putting Buck before myself...about trust, integrity, and authenticity....about giving up what we want to honor God in all we do. I want our family to point towards God, even in the midst of pressures & the norms of our society that scream one thing when it comes to family: IF IT's TOO HARD, GIVE UP! IF IT's NOT WHAT YOU IMAGINED, GIVE UP! IF YOU'RE NOT HAPPY, GIVE UP! I am not willing to give up. We made a commitment. God is leading us. Tonight, I am praying for you...if you are married that your relationship with God, your spouse, and your family will be protected, that unconditional love will fill your home. If you are not married, I pray that you will settle for nothing less than God's best...that you will wait for the person God has to lead you & walk beside you. Definitely, Maybe is not how God intended marriage to be. DEFINITELY, FOREVER is His intention & plan for our lives. Marriage is amazing. Families are amazing. God's plan is what our lives should reflect...even when it's hard. Thanks for listening.

BLOG Highlight

I just thought, over the next few months I would highlight a few really cool blogs we read. Today, I will take you to the blogs of some of the pastors at our church, Mountain Lake. I encourage you to check these blogs out. You may not care about some stuff because it is more related to "church announcements"...like the fact that our front parking lot is being ripped apart this week so that our new building can start going up. But, these are just a couple of guys passionate about following Christ and leading us! They are helping people "belong & become" and changing the way people think about church all over the world.

Family...

Peyton was able to meet two of her cousins last week. Olivia (9) and Annika (4) came all the way from Oklahoma for a visit. They were here three days, and we had a really good time. Peyton laughed and smiled a lot!

4th of July

So, I have a lot of catching up to do on here. First, here are some pics from the 4th of July. We went down & visited my mom, Joe, and Josh. We had Mellow Mushroom for lunch & watched the hotdog eating contest on ESPN...something everyone wants to watch while eating:)
